What is Interlibrary Loan (ILL)?

The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service allows users to borrow books that are not available in our library’s collection through “Interlibrary Cooperation” with other university libraries in Turkey.

Who Can Benefit from This Service?

ILL services are available only to the academic staff of our university.

Which Materials Cannot Be Borrowed?

Reference collections, theses, periodicals, reserve collections, audiovisual materials, and non-book materials are not included in the Interlibrary Loan service.

CONDITIONS FOR USE BY ACADEMIC STAFF OF ARTVIN CORUH UNIVERSITY:

1. Before making a request, the book must be checked in the Library Catalog to ensure it is not available in our collection.

2. Requests must be submitted in person to the ILL officer at the library.

3. Borrowed materials are handed over to the user against a signature.

4. Shipping costs are the responsibility of the user.

5. The loan period and renewal options for requested materials depend on the rules of the lending library.

6. Books whose usage period has expired must be returned to our library at least 6 days before the due date in complete and undamaged condition.

7. If the user does not pick up the requested item within the allocated usage period, they cannot request the same item again and must cover the costs.

8. Users are responsible for any loss, damage, or late return of borrowed materials. In such cases, the rules of the lending library apply.

CONDITIONS FOR OTHER UNIVERSITY LIBRARIES TO USE THE ARTVIN CORUH UNIVERSITY CENTRAL LIBRARY:

1. Reference collections, theses, periodicals, reserve collections, audiovisual materials, and non-book materials are not included in the Interlibrary Loan service.

2. The loan period within the framework of interlibrary cooperation, including shipping time, is 30 days.

3. A user may request a maximum of 5 books per request.

4. Borrowed books are sent by courier at the expense of the requesting library, in the name of the authorized librarian of the lending library. All costs are borne by the requesting library.

5. The lending library’s authorized staff is responsible for any loss, damage, or late return of borrowed materials. In such cases, the Artvin Çoruh University Library Loan Rules apply.
